Luxemburg 30 July 2010

Post Sat Jul 31, 2010 12:28 am

So I just got back from the three hour drive to Luxemburg and finally opened a beer :wink:

As it was the tour opener I actually didn't expect too much of it, thinking the band would have to get in a flow but they were fantastic. They all seemed to extremely enjoy the gig and they were laughing and communicating all round.

I think the setlist was what they usually have nowadays but there wasn't a brass section so no Metropolis but Darryl has a great treat for us all during Fiesta :lol: Was great to hear Mr C sings 1000's again and for me that was the highlight of the show!

The hall was really small and cosy but I think it is my dislike of French speaking people but I really got annoyed by some red-shirted bloke trying to climb the stage twice. Also in the beginning there seemed to be little crowd reaction but there was a lot of dancing behind the first rows. I must say I've never been at a ogues gig that was so quiet up front and had me just shouting all the songs haha.

Top gig and I'm looking forward to Amsterdam already!

Luxembourg

Just got back from luxemburg and after a short night here are my impressions of the show (definitely no review, I'm not in the condition to write a proper one...):
- really cool show, shane and the boys in good shape, some minor sound fine tuning could be done, but hey, we're not talking 'bout the dire straits ;-}
- they played everything desired and more, my personal highlights were sally, kitty, rainy night and phil's doing 1000s. This song always sends shivers down my spine
- The rockhal was reduced in size, so approx. 1000 people packed the place, cool atmosphere
- speaking of good preparations: The nearby pub ran out of guiness at 7:30 :-}
Have fun in amsterdam, hamburg....

Not the right order, of course, but more than I can remember without prompts. We didn't play "Lullaby" or "Dark Streets" and as usual, we played "Repeal".

No. I vetoed it because it came just after "Thousands". Tonight it came just before "Thousands". Much nicer.

Ow and by the way, us boys were discussing who the nice lady was who was walking around the stage before the gig :wink:
